Begin with a clean face and spritz generously with a facial mist or toner. Then warm a few drops of facial oil between your hands and pat all over your face and neck to give your skin some slip. Having damp skin before applying oils helps to seal in hydration and enhance nutrient absorption. We always begin facial massage by working the neck as this helps to stimulate lymphatic drainage which gives us glowing and healthy skin.

With gentle pressure, you can start working on your jawline with your thumb and index finger - swiping everything out from the chin to the outside of the jawline. Then, use your knuckles to glide up from your jaw to the cheekbone. Gently pausing and applying pressure under the zygomatic bone. We can start to lift the tissue here and release tension in the cheekbones, which may feel quite tender. Then use your hands to alternately swipe out along the cheekbones, contouring the cheekbone with one hand and swiping out with the other in gentle flowing motions to further sculpt and release the cheekbones.

We then use the edge of our hands to glide the cheeks out from the centre of the face towards the ears. We want to collect all the cellular waste and fluid in the tissue and move it towards the lymphatic vessels. Then with firm pressure, use both hands to glide up the face - to lift and tone the muscles. This also helps with jowls around the mouth area and we start to bring Qi, blood and movement to the face. Then swipe up using both hands, pausing at your cheekbones and lifting upwards to really lift the tissue up here.

Then move into gentle circles around the eyes. Move up to the forehead, creating circular motions with the tips of your fingers. Then massage the side of the nose, using your fingertips to really stretch out the tissue here which is great for sinus relief, and also softening the nasolabial folds.

Back into our circles around the eyes, and massaging the forehead out to the temple. Then massage the forehead with medium pressure, allowing circulation and nutrients to come in to help those fine lines and wrinkles.

You can then use your knuckle to massage up the procerus muscle to release tension here. And then knuckle above the brows to release muscle tension in the corrugator, which can hold a lot of tension and feel quite tender. And then use the pads of your fingers to glide up to the hairline - smoothing everything out with firm pressure.

Then we can work on pressure points around the eyes, using mindful but firm pressure to release tension and activate these pressure points. This is great for brightening the eyes. Really breathe into those pressure points, and we can stop and massage the temples.

Then use medium pressure to pinch along your eyebrows with your thumb and index finger - and gently glide out above and below your eyes - to really drain the fluid here. Then massage in small circles under the eyes, and stretch the tissue out at the temple and the sides of the eyes where we get crows feet and wrinkles. This is really great to soften those lines around the eyes.

Then drain down the sides of the face to move any fluids that may have collected. We can use two fingers on either side of the ear to pump back and down, to stimulate that lymphatic flow from the face down to the neck. And then continue draining down the neck to the clavicle.

Then use the pads of your fingers to gentle tap all over your face to boost circulation and nutrient supply to the skin, which enhances radiance. This also has a calming effect on the nervous system and benefits the bones. Then pinch the skin all over the face to further stimulate the tissue. And finally use upward flicking motions with your hands to lift the tissue and increase blood flow, first on either side of the cheek and then up into the forehead. Gently pat and soothe your face which is energised for the day ahead.
