Forehead Smoothing Ritual

(5 Minute Video)

.

Beginning at the back of the neck, wrap the U-edge of the tool across the spine and apply firm upward strokes. Then come up the back of the neck right next to the spine, using firm pressure to release tension. Continue working in small circles along the occipital ridge to activate pressure points.

.

Then, use the long edge of the tool to sweep up the trapezius muscle - up to the back of the ear. Then stretch up the sternocleidomastoid from the collarbone to the ear with the U-edge of the tool, using light to medium pressure.

.

And then sweep up the platysma muscle from the collarbone, ending the stroke at the corner of the mouth. Use your supporting hand to add resistance and give this muscle a gentle stretch.

.

Then, using the long smooth edge of the tool, we can start working in lanes across the forehead - sweeping up into the hairline and anchoring with our supporting hand to add some resistance and smooth out the tissue. We can then use the comb edge of the tool like a pencil eraser, using a light friction motion across the 11’s or frown lines, before smoothing everything out.

.

We can then use the comb edge to work up the procerus muscle using a zigzag motion towards the hairline. And we can continue working on general lines on the forehead with the comb edge of the tool, before once again working in lanes across the forehead, stretching out the tissue and really smoothing out the skin here.

.

Then use the round tip of your tool to work along the brow muscle, above the eyebrow. This muscle can be very tight and hold a lot of tension, so take your time to work through any crunchiness. And we can then sweep everything down to the collarbone three times, helping to drain any fluid we have moved.

.

We then repeat on the other side. Coming up the back of the neck right next to the spine with firm pressure. Then working in circles across the base of the skull to stimulate acupressure points and release tension. Then sweeping up the trapezius muscle with long strokes, up to the back of the ear. Once again, using the U-edge of the tool, we can give the sternocleidomastoid a nice stretch from the collarbone up to the ear. And then anchor at the collarbone, and sweep up the platysma muscle, up to the corner of the mouth. Keep using your other hand to give this muscle a nice stretch.

.

Again, we can start working in lanes across the forehead - sweeping up towards the hairline and supporting the skin with your other hand to apply a gentle stretch to the tissue. Sweeping up the third eye is very relaxing and soothing. Then use the comb edge of the tool to work across frown lines in a criss cross motion before combing out the area you have worked to integrate.

.

Releasing the procerus muscle by working upwards with the comb edge of the tool. And again working on any forehead lines, breaking up the pattern in the tissue with friction. And we can then comb out the forehead, working in lanes, and gently stretching the tissue out with our supporting hand. Then using the smooth edge of the tool to to work along the brow muscle which may feel quite tender. And finally sweeping everything out from the forehead down to the collarbone to drain.
