Facial Oil Ritual

A high quality facial oil is packed with essential fatty acids and antioxidants which improves skin texture, reduces fine lines and balances the skin barrier. A facial oil is super concentrated and doesn’t contain water. However, our skin needs water for hydration so it’s important to combine your facial oil with a facial mist to ensure the oil doesn’t just sit on the surface of your skin. You want to create a water-oil-water sandwich, and this approach is a game changer for dry skin.

YOU WILL NEED:

Your favourite facial oil serum and a facial mist (you can also use rose water or fresh water).

THE RITUAL:

1. After cleansing, leave your skin completely wet.

2. Then warm a few drops of facial oil in your palms and take a moment to breathe in the aromas before smoothing over your face and neck.

3. Take this time to do some facial massage to really work the oil into the skin. Follow a Facial Massage tutorial by clicking here.

4. Apply a generous spritz of facial mist, and then continue massaging the oil and water into your skin - bringing circulation to soften lines and combat dullness.

EXTRA TIPS:

If you have dry skin, or during winter, you may need to follow with a facial moisturiser after your oil serum. You can customise your skin routine depending on how your skin looks and feels, adding an extra drop of facial oil if your skin needs it. You can also use a facial mist throughout the day to keep your skin hydrated, which can be refreshing in warmer weather and keep your skin hydrated in winter.
